The Grand Valley Film Academy is dedicated to ensuring a fair festival for all participants.
Judging is a process taken very seriously within the GV Film Academy. We want to ensure absolute fairness and refrain from any bias or potential cheating that threatens to creep up on situations where a winner is decided overall. Therefore, we build a panel of Moderators and Judges on a volunteer / request basis. Our judges are qualified, experienced, or professional creators in their fields, and judge only categories that they are skilled at and understand fully.

Judging CriteriaEach category is judged by someone with expertise in that field. Each criterium judged is rated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 meaning absence of or failure to effectively display of the criterium and 10 meaning near-perfection. Judges must then briefly explain why they rated the entry as they did in each criterium. The averages from all judges are produced from each judge's scores, and this total is the basis of how we decide the nominees and winners.
The criterium that judges rate all categories includes...
In the event of a tie, the judges will judge the tying entries once more independently of others. |
