Films that pass through the moderation process and are approved for judging have the opportunity to promote the premiere of their film via trailers and posters all over GVSU's campus! All promotional content for the 2019 Film Festival is currently on display on all campus posting boards, the Library Learning Alcove screens, and an exhibition in the Calder Art Center atrium.
Promotion Guidelines for Posters and Trailers
The guidelines for promotion are as follows:
POSTERS
• Posters need to be 11" x 17" inches and must either be in JPG or PNG format (we do prefer PNG as this format holds resolution best when resizing).
• Because we have partnered with the Promotions Office to make this possible, all posters must adhere to the campus posting rules. This means that they must include the following:
• You can download any of our logos HERE.
• You may include your official selection laurel on your poster. If your film is in the fest, you will have received this via email.
• Posters must not contain foul or offensive language, gestures, nudity, or depictions of sex.
TRAILERS
• Trailers are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as they get a lot of attention. These will be played in the Library Alcove (four screens as one, on the second floor) and credited to the student who submitted the entry.
• A link to the trailer must be sent to us via email.
• Please try to keep trailers under 3 minutes.
• Include the time, date, and place that your film is screening in your trailer.
• You may include your official selection laurel in your trailer. If your film is in the fest, you will have received this via email.
• Trailers are subjected to the same rules on moderation as full-length entries.
Screenplays are not eligible for promotion, as there is no Viewers' Choice Award for scripts. The Best Screenplay award is awarded by the Academy based on the decisions of our judges. Screenplays will, however, be shown in a gallery exhibition from March 11th-March 22nd, 2019 in the Calder Art Center atrium. Posters will also be displayed in this exhibition.
